The Neala F. Griffin Trophy for the best direction was donated by the Griffen family of Grand Falls in 1969 in memory of their mother, Neala Griffen, and replaced the Thompson Trophy donated by Mr. P. J. Thompson, St. John's. One of the founding members and long-time Artistic Director of the Northcliffe Drama Club, Neala won the best direction award six times between 1954-65 having participated in sixteen NL Drama Festivals over as many years ...
